Weddings are a life-changing and celebratory moment in someone’s life, so every couple wants their favorite people to attend the festivities. If you have a close relationship with your grandparents, you’re probably looking for ways to include them in the day’s events as a way to showcase your love and appreciation for them—and personalize the celebration. When one bride got married, she had her 90-year-old grandfather sing the processional song as she made her way down the aisle. The emotional moment has gone viral on TikTok, with 31.5 million views, after wedding and event content creator Sabrina Buie posted it. “This one was a real tearjerker,” the caption reads.

The clip begins with the grandfather of the bride sitting in a wheelchair near the perimeter of the lawn, holding a microphone and belting out the chorus to “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Elvis Presley. “One of my brides had her 90-year-old grandfather sing as she walked down the aisle,” the text on the screen says. Then, the camera pans to the bride making her descent toward an elevated altar, where the groom and the wedding party is already standing. Based on the footage, it appears that the bride is wearing an A-line wedding dress and holding a bouquet of white flowers. Near the end of the video, another line of text appears: “He also sang at her parents’ wedding.”

With 30,400 comments below the video, it seems as if the clip has resonated with a large audience. Many people had an emotional response to the footage. “I started crying at the first ‘take my hand,’” one account owner admitted. “This is absolutely beautiful.” Others encouraged those reading the comments to take cues from the bride. “If you have grandparents who can attend your wedding, cherish them,” someone recommended. “I’d give so much for this.” Some of the group was impressed at the grandfather’s performance. “His voice is perfect for this,” a TikTok user wrote. “I’m sobbing.”

In August 2023, another grandfather of the bride had a standout moment on his granddaughter’s wedding day. According to Majically News, a network for feel-good news, the bride’s grandparents raised her, so on her big day, her grandfather serenaded the groom with “I Loved Her First” by Heartland. The video captures the wedding guests’ cheers, shouts, and tears during the grandfather’s live performance. At the end of the tune, the bride wipes away tears and embraces her grandfather.

Another bride, Cassie Woodard, has her grandfather to thank for her wedding floral arrangements. Business Insider reported on November 9, 2023, that her grandfather grew cockscomb flowers in his garden for 40 years, which were used for her ceremony and reception on September 30, 2023. The day before the wedding, Woodard and her grandfather cut all of the blooms together. “I wanted to remember him and the flower patch and that morning together because I knew it was going to be super special to me,” she told the outlet.
